This is how we understand the role of Quality Management in the Project (QMP)

The QMP…

  • is a neutral, quality-assuring authority in the project and therefore not active as a project member at the same time.
  • is an advisor to the project manager and contact person for the project team for the control and implementation of adequate quality management.
  • is a “mental sparring partner” (4-eyes principle) for the project manager in all phases of the project.
  • points out problems and weak points without accusing.
  • reports results to the project manager as well as in the steering group.
  • assists in the adherence to and implementation of the project procedures.
  • ensures formal quality standards and is not responsible for the delivery and review of content.

This is how we understand the role of quality management as an assessor

The assessor…

  • is a neutral authority from outside the project.
  • takes stock of the relevant IT systems, applications and databases using checklists.
  • identifies weaknesses within the contents, processes, procedures, results with the aim of establishing quality standards.
  • carries out an evaluation of the results.
  • defines measures to improve the quality of content, processes, procedures and results.
  • defines and implements quality assurance acceptance criteria to ensure consistent quality (e.g. documents, reviews and gateways).
